Off The Plane And Behind The Lens CONT

So when we got to the coffee shop, the two models were already waiting for us. We set up, Andy got coffees and I had everyone just hang out and get comfortable and drink coffee while wearing the products and I stalked around them shooting candidly. I found some cool alley ways to shoot in and got some cool urban HK glam shots with wool clothing 86 degree 100% humidity. Only thing is...I can't find one of the CF cards that had the best stuff...its got to be around somewhere.
So after that shoot we went back to Andy's apt, a more modest abode, dropped off our stuff and went out for lunch at a nice place around the corner.
After lunch we vegged out for awhile at Andy's place before part II of the photo shoot; Journey To Discover Bay!
Discovery Bay, or Disco Bay, is an outer lying island of HK that has become the home to any HK residences with too much money and looking to raise a family. According to Fiona, this is China's Stepford. Scandal, gossip, adultery, and all the other things rich shallow housewives do to occupy their time while their husbands occupy themselves elsewhere is the hallmark of Disco Bay. It takes a 30 minute ferri ride to get there, and once you set foot on the dock, you notice a ton of kids and their parents; over the hill fat brits with extremely young asian wives. I used to be critical of these Colonistic white guys with their "exotic wives" that they "rescued" from a life of pre-industrialism, but I've come to realize that the wives are just as worthy of criticism for they use these men as providers of extravagant luxury and social class, and you see this pattern in all cultures, races, religions, places, and times. But still, I just don't like the idea of a relationship that is based on racial sexual preference and material greed. I'm know I'm making gross generalizations again, but there are some patterns that can't be ignored.
We arrived at Andy's brother's house to borrow his and his neighbors' kids for a grueling 2 hour photo shoot that felt like it lasted twice as long. The kids are great, and fun to play with, but getting them to sit still and smile and not stretch the products was incredibly exhausting. Fortunetely, some of these kids had modeled before for toy and clothing stuff. This didn't help with the kids being professional, as much it helped with the parents being extremely demanding and forceful with getting their little treasures to look like the babies in this season's GAP ads. My god, to see these mothers and their kids! It seemed like every criticism they directed at their child was really a criticism of themselves, but thats what kid are for right? Correcting the mistakes in yourself through them? right.
So the shoot ended, Andy's bro showed me his collection of exotic rums, and we made our way back to the mainland, had dinner with Fiona's family, watched curb your enthusiasm, and crashed hard.
So its 12:10, I've got the day off. Woke up around 9, showed and shaved, was served breakfast by the Filipina maid, and I'm about to go explore the city for my self.
